We will be exploring 'Farm life'
We will be having an immersion day on Monday to launch our exciting new topic.
Please can children come to school dressed as a farmer - you don't need to go out and buy anything for this simply get creative with things you already have at home.
Here are some ideas for you:

Mrs Barnett and Ms Di Mauro 😊
First week in Dosbarth Hazel.
All of the children settled well in their new class this week😊😊
The children responded well to new routines and were pleased to meet their new teacher and catch up with their friends.
The children had fun exploring their new environment and were happy, enthusiastic learners.
A fun week was had by all and I look forward to seeing you all again next week!!
To start the year the whole school has been given the Topic ‘This is me!’ which will give us the chance to look at ‘what makes me a me’ as well as appreciate what makes us different from our friends.
A few reminders
Please could all children put their fruit and drinks on the trolley as they come through the door in the morning.
Please could all clothing, bags, fruit pots and drinks be clearly labelled with your child's name.
Please could you encourage your child to be able to do up their own coat.
The Pantomime came to us this year!
Dosbarth Hazel had a very special visitor on Monday 🎅🎅🎅
Criw Cymraeg came along today to work with Dosbarth Hazel and teach us Welsh games on the ipads.
What a fun Friday Dosbarth Hazel had. Everyone dressed up and made super Pudsey puppets. Thank you so much for your generous donations 🧸
Our theme for Anti Bullying week was "One Kind Word"
During circle time everyone gave a compliment to their friend sitting next to them. These are their lovely kind words and beautiful pictures.
The children were so proud of their poppies. They were very respectful and even managed 2 minutes silence🎖
Dosbarth Hazel have been busy painting pumpkins 🎃🎃🎃 We talked about the shape and colours and used our observational skills to paint a pumpkin.
A lovely autumn walk around the nature reserve 🍁🍂🍁....and a little play 😀

We have been very busy this week in Reception.
This week we are learning about Australia. We have read some wonderful books including Possum Magic, The Diary of a Wombat and our all time favourite Koala Lou.
Today we are saying goodbye to Ava as she is going to a new school. We planned our day together, we made party hats, played musical chairs, played hide and seek and sang songs in our outdoor classroom.
A selection of beautiful work.
The children placed flat stones on the grass and left them for 2 weeks. The questions they were asked:
What has happened to the grass?
What animals can you find?
Stretch and Pull
Our Outdoor Learning
Friday funday, making mud cakes using our Friendship feelings recipe.
What's the time Mr Wolf?🐺🦊🐺
Unfortunately due to the current restrictions we will not be able to hold our traditional Easter Bonnet Parades in the school this year. We have decided instead that this year all Easter activities will take place in school, including any hats/headbands the children may make. This is to reduce the amount of things being brought into school from home as recommended by the Local Authority.
Friday 19th March is Red Nose Day🎉
This year the theme is "Share a Smile" 😊
In an attempt to keep everyone safe we have decided not to let the children wear bought "red noses" this year to reduce the risk of them sharing or mixing them up. You can "paint" their noses if you wish.
We are encouraging the children to wear brightly coloured clothes(the brighter the better) to symbolise rainbows 🌈and to share their favourite jokes with the class to help'Share a Smile'. We are also asking for a donation of 50p if possible to support Comic Relief.
It was lovely to see happy, smiley children returning to school this week. When the children were asked to describe how they felt about being back, they used words such as awesome, happy, cool and excited.
Welcome back, I hope you all had a safe and happy Christmas. Unfortunately we will not be back in school, but working on line. (Online learning will be starting Wednesday January 6th)
Year One-year 6 will be using google classrooms. All passwords were given out before Christmas. Please let me know if you have any difficulties and I will do my best to help. I will try and make the learning easy and straightforward for you to follow. Please email me if you have any concerns.
This term our topic will be ‘Life journeys’ we will be studying mother and babies, life cycles and baby animals.
Well done Dosbarth Hazel for producing some amazing work. Here is a small selection we thought you would like to see.
On this page you will find key information about our curriculum and our classroom. We will also be sharing some of our learning with you so please look at this page regularly to see what is new. Diolch!
