Our topic for the summer term is ‘Iechyd da’ and has a focus of health and well being! We will be exploring 'In the Garden' Hopefully the sun will be shining and we will have many opportunities for lots of detective work outdoors and have lots of adventures too!
During this term we will also be celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee, having a Sports day for the first time in a few years 👌 and hopefully even get in a school trip to round off the year.
Dress to impress as a King, Queen, Prince, Princess, party clothes or simply red, white and blue. 🤴👸👑

Immersion Day - Monday 10th January.

We will be exploring 'Farm life'
We will be having an immersion day on Monday to launch our exciting new topic.
Please can children come to school dressed as a farmer - you don't need to go out and buy anything for this simply get creative with things you already have at home.

Outdoor Learning Week🌳🌿🌼
We practised yoga outside.
We can do tree pose, cat pose and down dog.
We are so lucky to have a courtyard to work and play in.
We played team games and circle games. We had fun!
Drumming outdoors with the sticks we found.
We looked at colours in the environment.
Winter of Wellbeing
We had an exciting day yesterday. Sean from Forces Fitness put Dosbarth Hazel through their paces. Great teamwork everyone!
The children have been working on a special mission this week. Lots of cutting, folding and sticking has taken place. All will be revealed in a couple of weeks😉
Congratulations to Blake on winning the competition that Manda set to design a label for her egg boxes. It was a difficult decision as they were all very good and Manda said they were all winners.🏆
World Book Day📚
We had a lovely day reading our books,hot seating our characters and making bookmarkers.
Dora came to visit us and Manda told us all about the life cycle of a chicken.
We asked Manda lots of where,what and why questions.
Manda set us a challenge to design a label for her egg boxes. It was EGGciting!!!
This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year.
We had fun making our own milkshakes.

Friday October 15th will be Diwrnod Shwmae!
Children can wear Welsh colours/rugby tops etc. Year 6, Criw Cymraeg are planning activities for each class. They will be doing games, reading and singing with the infant children.
A big warm welcome to the children who are in Dosbarth Hazel this year. Ms DiMauro and I are looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you. We hope you are all ready to work hard and have lots of fun in our happy, caring class.

First week in Dosbarth Hazel.
All of the children settled well in their new class this week😊😊
The children responded well to new routines and were pleased to meet their new teacher and catch up with their friends.
The children had fun exploring their new environment and were happy, enthusiastic learners.
A fun week was had by all and I look forward to seeing you all again next week!!
To start the year the whole school has been given the Topic ‘This is me!’ which will give us the chance to look at ‘what makes me a me’ as well as appreciate what makes us different from our friends.
A few reminders
Please could all children put their fruit and drinks on the trolley as they come through the door in the morning.
Please could all clothing, bags, fruit pots and drinks be clearly labelled with your child's name.
Please could you encourage your child to be able to do up their own coat.
The Pantomime came to us this year!

Criw Cymraeg came along today to work with Dosbarth Hazel and teach us Welsh games on the ipads.

Our theme for Anti Bullying week was "One Kind Word"
During circle time everyone gave a compliment to their friend sitting next to them. These are their lovely kind words and beautiful pictures.
The children were so proud of their poppies. They were very respectful and even managed 2 minutes silence🎖
Dosbarth Hazel have been busy painting pumpkins 🎃🎃🎃 We talked about the shape and colours and used our observational skills to paint a pumpkin.

We have been very busy this week in Reception.
This week we are learning about Australia. We have read some wonderful books including Possum Magic, The Diary of a Wombat and our all time favourite Koala Lou.
Today we are saying goodbye to Ava as she is going to a new school. We planned our day together, we made party hats,played musical chairs, played hide and seek and sang songs in our outdoor classroom.
