OUR HAPPY CLASS
Autumn Term 2020
Well we have had a lovely start to the new term. We were very lucky to be reunited as a class at the end of the summer term and settle back into the new routines of a very unusual school life.
We give a warm welcome to our new friends who have joined our class. They have all settled really well and our class is now busy and full energy and enthusiasm to learn.
We are basing our learning on the topic
What Matters To Me
The children have embraced the work and we have some lovely work in books and some excellent craft work ready to be displayed in our classroom.
Look out for some pictures in the near future of the activities that we have got planned.
We are trying to make school as 'normal' as possible in these very unusual times, sticking to routines but above all ensuring that the children stay safe. They are excellent at following the rules and never need reminding about distance and sanitising. Mrs Challinor and I are very proud of them all!
Use the home school books as much as you need to contact us but you can also use email and I will reply as soon as I can.
We are all looking forward to a healthy and happy term and so far the children are showing us that they are willing and ready to learn.
Watch this space for pictures of our activities.
With best wishes
Mrs Swain & Mrs Challinor
I am very excited to be saying
To all my lovely children.
It's been a long time coming and I cant wait to be reunited with you all.
See you in the morning.
Outdoor Learning Day
What a fab photo of Harley-Joe and his brother enjoying the outdoors today, it looks like they had lots of fun. Thank you for sending the photo and taking part in exploring and enjoying being outdoors today.
This is a lovely photo of Mason happily exploring the outdoors today. We are very lucky to live in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains that let us experience the wonders of nature on our doorsteps. Thank you to Mason and his mam for taking part in the special activity today.
Here are some lovely pictures of Thomas enjoying being outdoors today. He really has been exploring nature. Good boy Thomas and thank you Mrs Longley for doing such lovely things with Thomas.
Half Term Holiday Is Almost Here
Thank you all so much for the video that you sent us last week. It was fantastic and even though we don't need reminding, it showed us how wonderful and special you all are!!
Thank you again for everything you have done over the past 8 weeks. Your help and support is greatly appreciated every day.
Have a great week and don't forget to close your home school on Friday afternoon and enjoy chilling with your lovely children. You all deserve a holiday so make sure to have a break and have fun!!
Hopefully we'll all be back together soon but in the meantime please take care and stay safe.
With best wishes from us all in the Speech & Language Class
Summer Term 2020
I know it is a very difficult time for everyone but I want to say that I am so proud of all my children and very appreciative of all the hard work that you as parents are putting into teaching and helping your child learn at home.
It's really lovely to have so much contact with you be it emails, videos, photographs or post. It would be so much nicer to be in school but for the time being we will have to do our best and continue working hard together to ensure the children thrive as best they can.
As we didn't finish our mini topic on the Titanic maybe you could help your child do some simple research and look at some of the resources on Youtube and Twinkl. We have looked at some and the children really enjoyed learning the facts about the ship through videos and powerpoints. I always put "for children" after every search which will ensure the materials are child friendly and easy for them to understand and enjoy.
Stay in touch, stay safe and stay happy. I found a lovely quote last week which said
"Let your smile change the world
don't let the world change your smile"
There will be an end to this and we will get back to school eventually but until then we have to make the most of the situation. Sending you all my very best wishes in these uncertain times.
If you take a look back at our photos you will see the fun that we had planting these daffodils in the autumn term. We put the pots in the peace garden and were very happy last week to see how much they had grown. We decided that they could be an early Mother's Day present
Autumn Term 2019
This term we are learning about clothes. The children are enjoying the topic and we are embracing the Curriculum for Wales by listening to the pupil voice. We made a deviation from my planning and have enjoyed some lovely work from the storybook

Take a look at some of the activities we have enjoyed so far.

Summer Term 2017
Our theme this term is FOOD so we have got a few exciting trips planned which will help the children learn about the food we buy an eat through real experiences.
We also plan to do quite a lot of cooking and tasting in the class so keep a check our page to see what we've been up to.
Spring Term 2017
This term we are learning all about THE WEATHER. Here are some of the things that we have done so far.
Welcome back to a new term. All the children have settled well into routine again and are ready for some hard work in the weeks ahead. Our topic this term for the Infant children is All About Me so I'll be asking for you to send in some items or photographs from home of things that are special to your children so we can talk about them at school together.
The Junior children are doing a topic called Mighty Metals and will be joining Mrs Heaven's class for some of these activities. We are all looking forward to another happy term together. I'll be putting photographs on here regularly so you can see what your children are doing in school.
Miss Lewis is in school to work with the children on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will be sending an appointment out in the next few weeks for you to come in to school to discuss your child's educational and Speech & Language Therapy targets. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Please keep in touch through the Home/School book, it's a valuable resource for both us as a school and you as parents.
