Technology is becoming an ever more present force in our lives and is increasingly relevant to education. In September 2016 a new Digital Framework will be brought out by the Welsh Assembly  Government that will sit alongside the current Literacy and Numeracy Framework.

We at Llwyncrwn are embracing the advances in technology and endeavour to offer your children every opportunity.  Therefore we are introducing “Cloud Technology” into the school; every child will have a Google Apps for Education account created for them, with an individual username and password.  Here they will be able to access Google Documents, Slides, Sheets, Sites and much more. The main benefit for the children is that they will be able to access work they do in school at home and vice versa without the need to store anything on a memory pen; they will be able to share documents with other children and their teachers and also work collaboratively on a task.  There is also a function for the children to access email accounts but this has currently been turned off for a trial period.

To ease any concerns regarding security risks, the school administrator has access to every child’s account, where they are able to see every email or document that has been created even if it has been deleted. We also encourage parents to become involved and monitor their child’s account on a regular basis.
