Creating our 3D Heart Models

Year 4 did a fabulous job composing and performing call and response rhythms on the African drums.

Some photos of Dosbarth Beech's Anderson Shelters. We had so much fun!

Shwmae Day 2024

We are so grateful for the generosity shown so far by the parents and families of our children through the Harvest donations we have received. It's not too late to donate, if you have any tins in your cupboards at home that you would like to donate just send them into school with your child. Thank you so much for your support, it will make a huge difference in the lives of those in need smiley

We became Air Raid Wardens for a day!

We used cones and hoops to recreate the properties of solids, liquids and gases. Then, we played a game pretending to be particles in solids, liquids and gases.

This was a lot of fun smiley!

A Child's War Launch Day Autumn 2024

We loved taking part in lots of activities to learn more about WW2. We took part in a military themed boot-camp, learned the importance of the Spitfire plane and made our own 3D models. Lastly, we finished off the day by learning some popular songs from WW2.

Autumn Term 2024 - A Child's War

Our topic this term is "A Child's War". We will be learning about the key events of WW2 and the countries involved. Furthermore, we will find out what it was like to be a child in Wales during this turbulent period of history.

What was evacuation?

What would it have been like to be evacuated?

What was The Blitz?

Why was food rationed?

Key Information:

P.E - Thursday

Our P.E sessions will be on a Thursday this year so please ensure your child brings or wears appropriate sports kit to school. P.E kit should include black or navy joggers, shorts or leggings and a white t-shirt. Our lessons will be outside when weather permits, so please ensure your child is wearing trainers.

Home Reading

Pupils are encouraged to take reading books home daily to read to a parent or guardian. Regular reading improves vocabulary and language skills, helps to improve concentration and also teaches children about the world around them. Please take 5 mins to listen to your child read whenever you can. This can help to make a huge difference!smiley
