Useful Info:

P.E. - Thursday.

Please bring or wear appropriate sports kit to school on a Thursday (black/navy joggers/leggings/shorts and a white T shirt).  Our lessons will be outside when the weather permits, so please ensure your child is wearing trainers.

Swimming - Friday

Our first swimming session will be Friday 19th September. This will run every Friday, with our final session being Friday 12th December. We will be leaving school at 9am in order to be on time for our session. Please ensure that all children are on time, otherwise they will be considered absent. Children should arrive at school with their swimming kit on underneath their uniform. Please ensure children have a towel, underwear and goggles in a separate swimming bag.

Home Reading

Pupils are encouraged to take reading books home daily to read to a parent or guardian. Regular reading improves vocabulary and language skills, helps to improve concentration and also teaches children about the world around them. Please take 5 mins to listen to your child read whenever you can. It really will make a difference.

Autumn Term - This is Me

Diwrnod Shwmae

We had some special visitors at our assembly this afternoon. Cardiff City first team players Gabriel Osho and Omari Kellyman joined us where they answered questions from the children and discussed their career pathways. Luke from the Cardiff City Foundation discussed the strong link that Llwyncrwn has built with Cardiff City over the past 5 years and how this will continue to develop this year, with lots of exciting opportunities, including: match-day ticket giveaways, competitions and football sessions.

Diolch to Reverend Dave from St. Michael’s for having us this afternoon for Harvest Celebrations. Reverend Dave spoke to us about why Harvest is important to Christians, as well as the importance of helping others wherever we can. We got chance to share some of the Autumn and Harvest songs that we’ve been learning too.

We looked at ‘living’ and ‘non-living’ things in our school grounds as part of our ‘Living Organisms and Life Processes’ topic in Science. This will help us when categorising living and non-living organisms in future sessions.

Our first week in Blwyddyn 6! We have had a very busy and successful week, beginning our final year at Llwyncrwn! We have written autobiographies, created mathematical fact files, played cricket, created artwork and written letters to ourselves which will be opened in our final week at Llwyncrwn.
